LABRATS Update - NAVAD Day

On the 1st October, LABRATS representatives attended NAVAD day at the National Memorial Arboretum. The event was organised by the Nuclear Community Charity Fund and the service was led by the Right Reverend Nicholas Frayling.
it is important to remember those who have not made it this far and to ensure that future generations are aware of the sacrifices that our community have made.
We have also launched a fundraiser for the All-Tests Reunion in 2027, the 75th Anniversary of the first British Test, Operation Hurricane. Our goal is to ensure that all members can attend for free and the fundraiser has already raised over £9,000 with the help of GB News. Brian Unthank appeared live in the studio on the 8th October.

We are continuing to work with the Cabinet Office on the special tribunal, with ongoing meetings with officials. These meetings have been very successful and we are ensuring that our agenda of truth, justice, memorialisation, education and research are at the forefront of everything we do.
Once we have firm commitments, we will update the community.
We have been receiving feedback from certain members of the nuclear community that we are not representing them correctly, we have listened to their concerns and are working with them to ensure that everyone feels part of the community.
We do not exclude anyone from our community, we include everyone from the affected communities who were affected by the testing programs of the British Government from 1952 to 1991, including the British service personnel who were present at the French, Chinese, American and Russian testing program.
We are working closely with the OVA on extending the medal criteria again as the current dates are not correct and they have asked us to ensure that the criteria is correct and we are liaising with the cohorts affected.
Please remember that we are all volunteers, we all suffer health conditions and we are working as hard as possible. We will not tolerate abuse to any of our volunteers.
The next few weeks are incredibly important for the community and we will continue to work on your behalf as we have done for many years.
Remembrance is not far away and for those marching across the country, we thank you for continuing to remember those who have not made it this far. We have 66 people marching this year in a combined group. LABRATS, NCCF and BNTVA Museum all marching together.
