Documents the UK Government don't want you to see! No 6

Our investigate team have uncovered a number of documents this is edition 6 of 11.

These documents confirm that the Nuclear testing program was an experiment and the servicemen were 'Guinea Pigs' and the UK government has been lying for over 60 years to the families.

Our sixth document discuss Operation Antler and who is to be in charge.

The argument is between Sir Cyril Musgrave and William Penney. Sir Cyril is adamant that the commander must be a military commander due to the risk involved in the tests.

William Penney however, demands that the Commander is a scientific adviser due to the scientific nature and the need to work with the press and the government officials.

Unfortunately, the way William Penney describes people is very derogatory:

"Every university, and numerous cranks, were waiting with Geiger counters to detect radioactivity"

Was William Penney given too much power?

Conclusion

There was obviously tension between the military and the scientists. As military operations, they must be commanded by a Military person, advised by a scientist. But this was not good enough for William Penney, he needed to control every aspect of the tests and put in place Mr C.A. Adams who he already had full control of.
