Control the Narrative

Further archive documents show that the Ministry of Defence and AWRE did not like the initial draft of the Operation Hurricane Report. Changes must be made to the terminology of the report as per the guidance in this 1983 document.

Replace the word 'weapon' with 'device, in the kiloton range'.

Replace 'ensuring' with 'being satisfied'

Replace 'which were dangerous due to contamination' with 'hazardous because of the presence of high levels of residual surface activity'.

Replace 'very high contamination levels' with 'areas of high radiation exposure from surface activity'.

Replace 'contamination' with 'surface activity'.

Replace 'receiving a dose of 3r' with 'sustaining an exposure of 3 rontgen'.

Replace 'contamination levels' with "seawater activity concentration".

Replace 'contamination' with 'positive levels of radioactivity'.

Replace 'fall-out' with 'surface activity on the ground'.

mr/hr readings are not appropriate for underwater use.

Replace 'increases in intensity' with 'increases in concentration'.

AWRE suggests that the use of the word 'fallout' in these places is inappropriate and should be replaced by 'airborne radioactivity'.

Replace 'Once the limits of contamination' with 'Once the limits of activity on the ground'.

Replace 'while in a contaminated area were' with 'from an area where there might be surface activity were monitored'.

Replace 'were written off' with 'packed in drums and disposed of by dumping at sea'.

Replace 'Hazards due to' with 'any anomalous fallout or airborne radio-activity detection instruments'.

Insert after 'in the event' the words 'they detected no surface activity on the land overflown.'

Replace 'amount of contamination was' with 'amount of radioactivity was'.

Replace 'position of the contamination' with 'position of the airborne activity'.

Delete 'contamination' and insert 'airborne activity'.

Delete 'activities in contaminated areas' insert 'activities in areas where there might be surface radioactivity'.

Conclusion

Why were the MoD and AWRE so concerned about the use of the word 'Contamination', it was changed throughout the report when published.

The word 'Fallout' was removed and changed to 'Airborne Activity'. Do not mention the word weapon, change it to device.

Anything dangerous, contaminated or the mention of fallout causing a hazard was changed in the report. These changes meant that the report no longer mentioned any contamination or hazards, these small changes to the wording change the narrative of the report.

Why did the MoD and AWRE insist on these changes? Why the concern to remove anything which could be seen to be hazardous? A pattern is emerging in these documents uncovered in the National Archives, cover-ups and lies. Now the truth is finally being told.

More importantly, why did the HMAS Junee carry two morticians, exhume two Royal Engineers and where were they reburied? Do the relatives of these two soldiers know that they were exhumed?
